This letter was dropped in my mailbox today.

First off, under federal law, you broke the law by placing this in our mailbox.

Title 18, section 1725 states;

Whoever knowingly and willfully deposits any mailable matter such as statements of accounts, circulars, sale bills, or other like matter, on which no postage has been paid, in any letter box established, approved, or accepted by the Postal Service for the receipt or delivery of mail matter on any mail route with intent to avoid payment of lawful postage thereon, shall for each such offense be fined under this title.

Secondly, if you’re such a concerned neighbor, identify who you are. I don’t know anyone with the name of “Concerned Neighbor.” If you’re going to complain, grow a set! I don’t put on a mask when I go complain to the city council.

Thirdly, I doubt that moving our mailbox to the street has decreased the value of our home. I also doubt that the founders of Westwego were anywhere close to having the locations of mailboxes on their minds.

And lastly, proof read next time you type something up.

This is the craziest thing I’ve seen in a while. We chose to do this at the request of the USPS. If you choose to leave yours where it currently is, that’s your choice and right.

Rant over.
